This has probably been discussed here ad nauseam but I'm curious about research studies on organic vs. non-organic teas. Also GMO teas...
Here's my original post from the "Naturopathic Medicine" tribe: Organic vs. non-organic & GMO Teas

"Some say that non-organic teas are better tasting and that organic teas really aren't much better than non. Yet, others will say it's more about "Fair-Trade" and sustainable practices. What about Genetic Modification (GMO)? What do the research studies say? What are your thoughts on this issue?"
I would be careful buying tea, coffee (or anything) from China. Also be careful getting tea from Japan.

Re: Organic vs. non-organic & GMO Teas
Mon, January 21, 2008 - 10:24 AMDoesn't bother me in the least. I get most of my tea from China and Japan and I have no issues what so ever since I do check for quality. This China scare is out of control, I assure you there is no lead in my tea. Just check your sources. -

Re: Organic vs. non-organic & GMO Teas
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 10:23 PMi do not think you have to worry about GMO with tea. GMO seeds are not at all welcome in Japan! Not sure about China.
always go organic/sustainable when possible, that is, if you care about your own health and planetary health. However the label, organic, appears to be somewhat meaningless, these days.
